About Kaley Dewey MS, RDN, CDN:
I am a functional dietitian located in Buffalo, NY, dedicated to root-cause healing. My practice specializes in GI health, hormone regulation, and eating disorder recovery, alongside extensive experience in culinary medicine, autoimmune care, and anti-inflammatory nutrition. I focus closely on the connection between the gut microbiome, inflammation, and hormonal health to create individualized care plans.
Believing that nourishing your body should feel empowering rather than stressful, I take a whole-person approach to wellness. I understand the challenges of maintaining a positive body image and a healthy relationship with food in today's diet-focused culture. One of my greatest passions is helping my clients rebuild their relationship with food in a supportive, encouraging environment.

My passion for nutrition began long before I became a dietitian. In high school, I met a registered dietitian who completely transformed the way I thought about food and health. Seeing the impact that nutrition could have on both physical and emotional well-being sparked my interest in the field and inspired me to pursue a career in dietetics. I became fascinated by the relationship between nutrition, the body, the brain, and the nervous system, and I developed a deep appreciation for the role nourishment plays in overall health.
I earned my bachelor's degree from Buffalo State College and later completed my master's degree at the University at Buffalo. During my time at UB, I had the opportunity to teach Culinary Medicine on three separate occasions, leading both university-level courses and community education programs for undergraduate and graduate students. These experiences strengthened my belief that nutrition should be practical, enjoyable, and accessible.
My clinical career began at Erie County Medical Center (ECMC), where I gained valuable experience working with a wide range of medical conditions and patient populations. Combined with my continued work in private practice, these experiences have provided me with a strong foundation in both clinical nutrition and integrative, functional approaches to care. One of the things I value most about the field of dietetics is its emphasis on preventing chronic disease and improving quality of life through evidence-based nutrition interventions.
Over time, hormonal health and gastrointestinal nutrition have become areas of particular passion for me. The relationship between the gut and the endocrine system is complex and deeply interconnected, which is why I believe individualized care is essential. By taking a personalized and functional approach, I work with clients to better understand the underlying contributors to their symptoms and create realistic strategies that support healing and long-term wellness. Watching clients regain their energy, confidence, and sense of well-being is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
My philosophy centers around nourishment rather than restriction. I believe that adding supportive, nutrient-dense foods to the diet is often far more powerful than focusing solely on what needs to be removed. Eating is a skill that can be learned, practiced, and enjoyed. Drawing on my background in culinary medicine, I help clients develop balanced and satisfying meals that fit into their lifestyles in sustainable and realistic ways.
I also believe that food should not be a source of guilt, fear, or stress. In today's nutrition landscape, many individuals struggle with their relationship with food, and addressing these challenges is an important part of improving health. I have extensive experience supporting individuals with eating disorders and disordered eating behaviors and am passionate about helping clients rebuild trust in their bodies and in food.
Above all, my goal is to provide a compassionate, supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. I believe that nutrition care should be collaborative and individualized, and I am committed to helping each of my clients build a healthier and more confident relationship with food and their body.

A registered dietitian can help with much more than general healthy eating. Nutrition therapy can address digestive health, hormonal and metabolic health, eating disorders and disordered eating, nutrient needs, blood sugar balance, inflammation, and your relationship with food. Care is individualized based on your symptoms, health history, goals, lifestyle, and nutritional needs.

That's okay. I'm not here to hand you another plan and send you on your way. Nutrition therapy is about counseling, connection, and working through things together. I take the time to understand your health history, your relationship with food, your symptoms, your lifestyle, and the mental and emotional pieces that can shape how you eat and care for yourself. We'll talk through what's been difficult, what you've tried before, what has and hasn't worked, and what you actually need. From there, we'll create an approach that is made for you. One that feels realistic, sustainable, and supportive of your real life. There is no pressure to be perfect. I'm here and excited to work with you!

My approach looks at the whole person rather than focusing on a single symptom or diagnosis. I consider nutrition, symptoms, health history, lifestyle, nutrient needs, and relevant laboratory information to identify patterns and develop practical, completely personalized strategies. My goal is to create nutrition recommendations that are both evidence-based and realistic for your life.

“Kaley’s patients love her for her wealth of knowledge, compassion, realness, and sense of humor.” — Colleague
My approach is much more than telling you what to eat. I take the time to understand you as a whole person, including the physical, emotional, behavioral, and lifestyle factors that influence your relationship with food and your health.
Just as important, I want you to feel comfortable being yourself during our sessions. Nutrition therapy works best when you feel heard, understood, and supported. Building a trusting relationship is an important part of the process, and I want our sessions to feel like a space you genuinely want to come back to.
Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, build practical skills, make space for challenges and setbacks, and find approaches that are realistic for your life. My goal is to help you develop greater trust in your body and yourself while creating sustainable changes that support your overall well-being.

I use an integrative, functional-medicine-informed approach when appropriate, looking at the bigger picture and potential contributing factors behind symptoms. This may include nutrition patterns, digestive health, hormones, nutrient status, lifestyle factors, and relevant lab data.
